Overpriced for old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, access to subwa
Cons:
Normandie Court is great on paper. Nice kitchens, good location, building amenities.

All of the amenities cost extra and the gym facilities were old and not worth it. The elevators were constantly breaking down. The walls were paper thin and facing 96th street near the hospital was terrible. They kept raising our rent ($600+ in one year) with no upgrades or changes. Not worth it!

Ok building for the price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Maintenance is great. Responsive and quick. Management is a nightmare . Gym is clean package room
Cons:
Management a nightmare. Elevators always broken. Gym equipment always faulty. The outside of the building filthy.
Advice to owner:
Invest on cleaning the outside for the price they charge per apartment

Great building, highly recommend
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Doormen are super friendly
- Very clean
Cons:
- Elevator takes forever
- Sirens outside are very loud
Advice to owner:
- Add elevator status numbers on all floors. So you can see when the elevator is coming.

Great building for young professionals
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location to Q train and Central Park. Affordable rents in a traditionally expensive area.
Cons:
Elevators are terrible. Go down about once a week. Neighborhood borders a slightly sketchier part of town, but rarely have issues.
Advice to owner:
Fix the elevators for good

Going to miss this apartment!
Former Tenant
Pros:
They run a tight ship here and it doesn't go unnoticed. Staff are all friendly and extremely helpful. Maintenance issues are promptly addressed. Packages never lost. Spare key at front desk is handy. Great closet space. Quiet neighbors.
Cons:
While this is not unique to this building, the rent for my unit was just raised more than 20%. While rents everywhere are at an all time high, this seems extreme as I was already paying market rate. (I had to move out for unrelated reasons, but I'm not sure I would have paid the new price.)
Advice to owner:
I hope you show your staff the appreciation they deserve, because they do a fantastic job!

No Rodents or pests in my three years of living here! Clean building, trash chutes on every floor to make taking out the trash easy, laundry in building, and management is responsive.
Cons:

Normandie court building 235
Former Tenant
Pros:
Maintenance comes within the day usually
Cons:
Management sucks and is cheap. The ac floods often. It has leaked all over my floor and my roommates floor. They had to replace the whole floor and management would not pay for my damaged carpet to be replaced. In the summer the floors also come up off the ground. So our entire apartment has now had the floors replaced. Super inconvenient. Rooftop not included unless you are a member of the gym. Only building I’ve ever seen that.
Advice to owner:
Treat your tenants with respect and don’t cheap out on the kitchen and floors. It probably costs you more money to pay someone to come fix everything all the time.
