Pros:
Shoutout goes to the mailroom who works hard to receive, sort and hand parcels to residents.
Cons:
If you are thinking into moving in at Normandie Court, I would strongly suggest you reconsider. Some construction work started mid August 2022 and are still ongoing (management refuses to communicate an end date), which uses power drilling machines as well as power saws from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. The noise is a nightmare and is to bang your head on the wall. Multiple tenants have reached out to management, they simply do not care about their tenants. Regardless of your personal situation, they won’t help in any way. Once you move in, you are blocked.
Besides this complete joke, here are the other things you’ll experience:
- Elevators take ages to arrive, and quite often the next one will be too crowded for you to get in, you’ll have to wait longer. Queues form at the ground level to get up,
- Half the washing machine are “out of service” and take ages to be repaired. Once my laundry was stuck in one of those. All I could do was call a phone number that was unable to help. Of the machines in working order, half will be full of pet hair, in which you don’t want to wash your clothes. Nobody empty lint drawers ever. Plain disgusting,
- The water in sinks/baths regularly turns brown for no reason and no explanations given by management. When you ask maintenance, they said "tell us when it happens next". You’ll wonder what you’re washing yourself with,
- As mentioned in another review, windows don't close (whether you ask for repair or not). In the winter, the cold comes in a steady flow and cool your place to the point of having ice on the window sils. You will have to stop the draft with a towel or something,
- Front desk will complain to you if you park your car for more than 15 minutes while loading/unloading, all the while you wait 5+ minutes for an elevator each time. Even though there is no lack of space at that time,
- There is an hospital nearby and you’ll experience constant emergency truck sirens and honks every 5 to 20 minutes non-stop all day and quite a few at night,
- There is a Mosque on the North West corner, and I do respect any background and religion, but be aware you will hear them pray in a loud speaker in the street (on top of that tower) around 6 am some mornings.
I deeply regret moving into this complex. There really is nothing “luxury” about Normandie Court or its management team.
