An overall great experience, but is it worth the price?
Pros
Cool layouts, big rooms, nice appliances. This building is very close to the m23+ bus stop, which runs reliably during daytime. Maintenance can be very quick to respond. It's relatively quiet also. Not only are most of the tenants respectful, but also the fact that StuyTown/PCV has no commercial units below + is allllll the way East touching the water, non-residents really have no reason to be in the area at all unless visiting a friend. This also makes it feel safer to walk around at night. The pathways actively make it pointless for non-residents to travel through, they'll avoid the area to get somewhere else faster. Also, security seemed diligent.
Cons
People were a mess with recycling, so embarrassing for a building of otherwise such a high standard. You have to make sure to recycle before the weekend or else it's overflowing into the space in front of the elevators. Not enough laundry machines. 5 washers for a 15 story building with 8 units per floor... you do the math! Yes, some buildings don't have laundry in them at all... but that's part of why we're paying such a price, to have access to those machines. There should be enough.
Advice to the owners
Due to the waste bins always overflowing and people recycling incorrectly, perhaps either more bins should be put in place, or people should be forcefully taught how to recycle properly.
Great place, would rent again
Pros
It’s a great area to live in. The building is clean, neighbors are really friendly. It’s easy to get in touch with management if you have questions or need something fixed in your apartment
Cons
Didn’t have the best heat during the winter (this was an issue only in my room though, not the whole apartment) and resolving the issue had too many steps involved
