Gorgeous Apartment- Horrible Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are updated and spacious.
Cons:
So much to say here... - The building is not well maintained. - They will try and increase your rent by at least $1000 each year even if you are a long time tenant. - Management never responds to emails and their phones are disconnected. - Building doesn't respond to maintenance requests. - "Gym" and Laundry are poorly maintained. - Packages stolen frequently and nothing is done.
Advice to owner:
Stop charging a premium for apartments that are NOT in a luxury building.

Poorly Managed - Think Twice?
Former Tenant
Pros:
We were new to the city and country - this building was the only one willing to lease to tenants without social security or credit.
Cons:
Simply poor management. It took many months to process a simple registration process, and the air conditioners that were promised by the realtors were never installed.

nice apartment, lousy management
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's on Roosevelt Island, which is a great place to live. The renovated apartments are nice and spacious and light, and many have great cross ventilation.
Cons:
The water has cut off with no notice several times. Last spring it cut out on and off for two months. At least one of the two elevators is often out of service. The laundry rooms are filthy and all of the machines are never working all at once. The management office staff are rude.
Advice to owner:
Hire more maintenance staff and advise them that they need to be polite to the tenants, same for the office staff.

A Mix of Good and Bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
The renovated apartments are gorgeous! Upgrades are well done and the light through the windows in the apartment is unmatched. All utilities included and noise levels (minus through the door) are amazing! Maintenance is lovely and living on the island is paradise.
Cons:
The office staff and management are rude and unresponsive. While maintenance does their best, they often have to outsource maintenance work. The hallways and lobby had minor upgrades but are dirty and dated. Management lets tenants smoke in the hallways and apartments and does nothing. The exterior of the building is kind of a mess. Package theft in this building is out of control.
Advice to owner:
Be more active in what is happening here. The office staff are awful and disrespectful and never respond to emails. Update the public spaces and find a way to better monitor building rule compliance and safety. Also- please update the buzzer system- it doesn't work. Maybe with a video doorbell?

Nice building and neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location. Easy transportation.
Cons:
Not many grocery options on the island.
Advice to owner:
Respond to tenants, and figure out the trash rooms. Print rules outside of door. Flies in apartment and very large roaches that come out of unfinished walls.

The management takes a little long to respond to requests
