A comfortable place to live

Pros

Clean, attentive doormen / repairs, new, convenient amenities (gym, pool, tennis courts, etc.)

Cons

Noise level can get pretty bad given this building is next to entrance to Lincoln tunnel (probably better on higher floors, I was on #5), walls were thin (could hear my next door neighbor more than I should)

Pros

everything was good except size and proximity to subway - nothing can really be done about those. management is quick to answer everything, and maintenance is fast. no problems with anything and the view facing west is nice.

What did you think of the location?

I stayed at 620 W 42nd (same property as 610, I believe) and LOVED my building but the location can be rough for some people who commute on a daily basis. Being near the piers is wonderful for walks without having to worry about vehicular traffic and Hudson Yards/the High Line is also a short and easy walk away. You're located in Hell's Kitchen, which is teeming with wonderful restaurants (check out Sicily Osteria and Yakitori Torishin!) and bars so there's always a good amount of energy in the neighborhood. You'll also find tons of food delivery options because of how centrally you're located relative to Midtown and Hell's Kitchen. It's unfortunately far from subway lines, with the closest stations being Hudson Yards (which only has the 7 line) and Times Sq (which no NYC resident ever wants to have to walk through). Additionally, you'll experience tons of vehicular traffic during rush hours because of all the people commuting to the tunnel.

Location is meh. Traffic all the time since it’s close to the Lincoln Tunnel. Half mile to the nearest subway (7 or A/C/E) so kind of inconvenient getting anywhere else. Most interesting things around are tourist attractions (Circle Lines, Times Square, Hudson Yards). But if you’re a homebody then building and block itself is great. Cafe and grocery on the first floor of the building, a burger place and a bowling alley on the block, and a small park/playground maintained by the property owners.
