Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for 11 East 1 Street, Manhattan praise the building's prime location, modern amenities including a rooftop and gym, and highly responsive, attentive staff. The apartments are clean, well-maintained, and offer strong water pressure and effective heating. Residents enjoy a friendly community atmosphere and appreciate doormen and on-site parking. Noise from nearby streets and occasional pest issues, particularly in stairwells, are noted drawbacks. Rent stabilization status is mixed, with concerns raised about significant rent hikes and limited negotiation options. Overall, the building appeals to young professionals seeking modern comforts but may feel overpriced for some renters.

Amazing and beautiful building

Pros

I’ve lived here for five years and absolutely love it. The staff are great and very responsive and the amenities are beautiful.

Cons

They were tough and annoying about replacing my drier which doesn’t work well.

Former tenant·Over 1 year ago

3 year tenant

Pros

Building answers requests immediately to fix broken appliances, shower pressure is incredible, apartments are clean

Cons

Despite having a rent stabilized unit, the building is undergoing destabilization and therefore the 421a fees adjust the price to market value, so you are not getting a deal. Tenants only realize this 1 year after signing
