Great minus pests

Pros:
Beautiful building, and our super kept it up nicely in common spaces. Loved the elevator, and the shape of the apartment space.
Cons:
We did struggle with pests (mice) and it was super hard to get a comprehensive response from the building.
We also had a super difficult time with the owner - when we were working on renewing, our security deposit didn't arrive to her on time in the mail, and she was pretty threatening to us about it when it was just a slow moment with USPS.
Advice to owner:
Take mice seriously, and don't threaten your tenants with homelessness

Charming but a little dirty

Pros:
The opening has an amazing greenhouse and the super cares about the plants. The super is generally good at being responsive too. The building has a lot of character and everyone if very friendly in the building.
Cons:
Definitely has mice problem. Had issues with flies and ants as well. An older building so random faucets or lights will stop working all the time. Property management company is hard to deal with.

Pros:
Apartment has great location, nice bedroom sizes, strong water pressure + garbage disposals, and tenant-controlled central air and heating. Also has laundry in building and an elevator
Cons:
Building has a history of pests--known mice infestations in 2020, 2021, and 2023. Exterminator visits 2x per month but not effective, and management is unresponsive. Rent is high. Packages get stolen from the lobby regularly. Appliances and hallways could use updating

Elevator building in the East village with laundry in building and a great lobby. The super is very responsive and helpful - have loved living here
Cons:
Building just took measures to help moderate the building controlled heat/ac, but previously was a problem. no doorman, so packages have been stolen

Great apartment for the price and location

Pros:
Love the lobby area, elevator, friendliness of everyone that lives there. Front area is upkept well and I love the convenience of laundry in building etc. water pressure amazing. Price amazing and there is a garbage disposal! And dishwasher. Can’t really complain
Cons:
It could use a bit more updated appliances and the hallways etc could be redone. But not a huge deal. The super is a little bit unresponsive and not super friendly

Overall a good place to call home!

-central air
-dishwasher
-good size apartments, big living area, and kitchen, good closet space
-always hot water and amazing water pressure
-well-maintained lobby and I feel very safe
-laundry in the building is nice to have
-neighbors are friendly
-super is very prompt
Cons:
-can be cave-y because of the lack of light in the main room
-MICE. the building has a definite mouse problem. The occasional cockroach in the basement but I have never had any in my room (except for dead ones left from before I moved here).
-if facing the courtyard there are loud parties sometimes. get earplugs for party nights
-super is always cranky and has yelled at me multiple times when doing his job

trash chute on each floor, packages always arrived, near the Trader Joe’s and target, close to the L

Elevator broke down a handful of times, we also had a rat issue for a few months

Cons:
Property manager Bibi lies about rent to up charge you during negotiations. She'll have it listed on Street Easy for one price and then tell you it's actually $300 a month more expensive. Don't listen!
Advice to owner:
Be fair about rent prices

Nice East Village Building

Pros:
Great water pressure, tenant controlled heat/AC, adorable lobby with tons of plants. The super is perpetually cranky but does get things done on request which is nice!
Cons:
Occasionally terrible neighbors in the building since there’s a fair number of young people—had a drunk frat boy hammer on the door at 4 am on a Tuesday once because he was too drunk to find his own apartment, saw a mouse in the building once, and a lot of crazies in the other buildings on the block, but overall a good living experience in the neighborhood.
Advice to owner:
Almost all appliances need updating, and a functional website for rent payments, service requests, etc would be a huge plus.

The super is/was fantastic! Clean and well maintained building. Prices were fair for the amenities and east village location.
Cons:
N/A I only moved out because my roommate needed to leave.

Good, not great

Pros:
Great location, cute lobby, quiet block, decent sized apartment, big windows and good light. Ice machine, garbage disposal and great shower water pressure all little extra nice things too.
Cons:
Had a mouse problem for an extended amount of time with minimal help from management. Elevators and common spaces could use some updates.
