Best building ever

Pros

We have lived here for over 3 years and we love it. The doormen are really nice, management is responsive, we don’t hear the neighbors and have also hosted several parties without any problem… everything has worked perfectly.

Cons

The gym could be bigger. I usually use the treadmill and sometimes they were all busy.

Bad neighbors, mostly student, smoking policy not respected. Very low energy efficient, A/C is always on during the summer.

I sent in the longer answer, but just so it's deanonymized -- yes, Beam Living is excellent. Avoid FirstService Residential like the plague.

yes, it was bad before and worse now. they are cutting corners and costs. They've cut personnel in the mail room and it's tough.

I can't believe i'm on openigloo answering a new question, but YES. It's much better. It went from legitimately one of the worst building managers maybe ever (FirstService Residential) -- specificially Lily deJong and Lina Shajaj were god-awful at their job and rightfully fired -- to Beam Living. Beam is just very good at their job. The place now has all these events, is super-well organized, and you can see things steadily improving around the building (directly related to what residents are talking about). It's made a big difference and I try to tell them every time I run into them too.
