Luxury building that doesn’t feel luxurious
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great amenities,(when they’re open and working which is not as often as you’d think). Concierge and Package Room staff are very nice and have always been helpful. And the views if you’re on a higher floor are amazing.
Cons:
Management is terrible, rotating door and the current property manager M***s is completely unresponsive to multiple emails and complaints. Garbage rooms are disgusting for a new building because there are a ton of kids living here going to school and they treat the building like a dorm room. I went down to play basketball last week and a bunch of kids had just finished playing and left fast food bags, candy wrappers and empty Gatorade bottles right on the court and didn’t even blink. The neighborhood is terrible, it’s in the middle of one the biggest housing authority sites in Manhattan and there is a minimum of one shooting a week within 2 blocks of the building, not to mention the multiple stabbing, fights and robberies on the corner? Its not safe nor do you feel safe. You CANNOT walk 1/2 block away from the building at night or you can get yourself in a lot of trouble. Though the building is beautiful, Management is awful, the amount of kids in their late teens and early 20’s that treat the building like a dorm and the unsafe environment around the building is why I won’t be renewing my lease here.
Advice to owner:
Answer your emails and stop the raging parties 5 nights a week, make residents clean up after themselves or start fining them. I lived in a dorm in college, I’m done with that. There is garbage everywhere and nobody seems to care except the poor maintenance people that have to clean up after all these kids that live here. Nothing you can do about the northbound crime. If I would have known how bad the neighborhood was I would have never moved in.
