Poor Management and Maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet area compared to other areas in the neighborhood. Not too far from the 6, 2, and 5 trains. Stainless steel appliances in the apartment I am staying in, unsure about other units.
Cons:
Unit was given to me in poor conditions. I had to clean the entire unit myself. The landlord and super promised repaint the apartment and to fill in holes and gaps on the floors and walls which were allowing water-bugs and pests to enter the apartment. It took 5 months for them to finally send someone to make repairs. I did not have hot water for over 8 months until I finally decided to report the issue to 311. Once reported, they finally fixed the issue. It is now winter and I’m still getting a lot of water bugs and pests. The landlord has been very unresponsive. It is a small unit so pests and water bugs can make you feel extremely uncomfortable and closed in.
Advice to owner:
Value your tenants more especially if they are good tenants. Instead of making empty promises, follow through with them and take action.
