Management not good

Pros

Doorman 9am to 5pm & 5pm to 10:30pm - Neighbors are friendly - Both a General Medicine doctor and pediatrician clinic in first floor Lobby - Trains are nearby - Park Across the street - Two Elevators (but technically one, I’ll cover that in the Cons) - Laundry in basementi

Cons

- Two elevators but only ONE works. Since the building is old, I have been told the elevator needs to be renovated to be update with today’s technology. Management is pretty much cheap and don’t want to do it. it’s always a temporary fix and back to being out of order. - Management sucks. If you have an issue in your apartment, they take a very long time to fix any issue. - Management / landlord is hard to get in touched with. they hardly ever return my calls and only emails you back after following up what feels like 100 times. - Super usually has an attitude. - The workers who are hired to do repairs in the apartment are not efficient. They do a very sloppy job, and always leave a mess of debris and paint. Management need to hire more experienced workers or train the ones they have better. - the laundry room in the basement is creepy and dirty. found a dead waterbug roach in the washer with my clothes. never washed there again. - big building, so for the ones who are willing to wash there, the washers are almost always taken, even if you go early in the morning. - If you work late hours and need to throw away your trash, you either have to wait until the next day at 9am or try and fit the garbage in the compactor because they close the basement level at 6:30/7pm and the weekends even earlier at 4:30/5pm. - water bugs!! especially in the summer. but is water bugs everywhere. - Flies. omg the annoying flies are constant! they are all sizes and all year long. i never seen a building with this much flies. - the walls are cement, so you can not mount your TV nor decor. - Old and outdated appliances. - wood cabinets they refuse to change because they are cheap. they don’t care how long you been living there and how badly worn the cabinets are. they will add a screw to it and say it’s fixed. - Paint jobs are always done horribly and they will go years without painting your apartment. - the entrance to the building isn’t accessible for the elderly and disabled. they have small two steps to enter but i always see older and disabled people struggling up and down those steps. or new parents with strollers.

Advice to the owners

stop taking the short cut route and actually fix the elevator. hire better workers to do apartment repairs. Add maybe a small ramp in the entrance to help those who struggle with the steps. be more responsive and professional when speaking to tenants. grace goes a long way.

Bad super (doesn’t in the building) A lot a noisy neighbors, in summer you can sleep and this area too much noises from the street and also the management treat tenants like nothing.
