MONEY HUNGRY LANDLORDS
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s sort of affordable
Cons:
They don’t give heat when it’s cold, you have to threaten to call 311 or else they won’t fix any issues in your apartment. They won’t replace the damaged smoke or carbon monoxide alarms. They will want to charge you $30(which is what it costs at any other store) why would I give them $30 for the alarm they are supposed to cover any ways ?They harass you for the rent but don’t even maintain the building. There’s roaches and mice in the entrance, tenants don’t throw out the trash properly so the hallways always stinks. Nobody here enforces the rules. The fact that during a world pandemic they called me every week asking for the rent is still crazy to me.
Advice to owner:
Stop harassing tenants over the rent and actually fix the problems then maybe you’ll see more tenants actually paying the rent. Enforce the trash rules so the mice and roaches go away.

Horrible building
Former Tenant
Pros:
We can have parties without anyone complaining about noise
Cons:
I’ve been living here for 22 years. This building has just gotten more and more horrible. The hallways are filled with trash, the elevator never works although there are 6 floors and 12 flights of stairs (with elderly people living here). The music is ridiculously loud every single day. The upstairs people have children running around at all hours, but children that sound like they weigh a good 400lbs and a dog who you can hear scratching the floors. The hot water gets turned off often and they don’t give heat during the day only at night. There are homeless people who live in the basement of the building who they have cleaning up but they also smoke and do drugs inside the building. MICE AND ROACH issue!!! I keep my apartment very clean but other people leave their trash in the halls and it attracts vermin. If something is broken in our apartment we need to fix it ourselves because they will bring an inexperienced person to do a half ass job. Nothing down besides putting up a sign to wear masks in the building due to covid but nothing else. Mailboxes get broken into. Packages never arrive and go missing.
Advice to owner:
Get yourself a better landlord with strict rules. NO HOMELESS LIVING IN THE BUILDING. KEEP A CLEANER BUILDING. GET A BETTER ELEVATOR THAT DOESNT BREAK DOWN EVERY TWO WEEKS. Stop raising the rent for a place that does the bare minimum.
