Co-op Con artists.
Pros
Friendly as long as you don't point out what they are doing wrong.
Cons
Covered up a, mold condition that was so extensive that it caused health problems. I discovered this after I qualified to purchase the co-op and asked for the contract to review with my lawyer, then refused to give me a copy, saying that i could only make an appointment to sign it in the office and that getting a copy was not "a thing". My lawyer assured me that was not true or a standard practice in any way. Refused to return my deposit even after it was determined that I was entitled to it by the public advocate.
Advice to the owners
Stop breaking laws.
You deserve better
Pros
Super is a nice guy
Cons
- think 1997 NYC - condo board of 4-5 unresponsive tenants/owners - will not paint units unless requested - floors obviously previously had carpet that was ripped up sans sanding the wood that would be the new floor; there were staples, nails, cracked floorboards, etc. - board contact was unprofessional during any procedures (move-ins, move-outs, repairs, etc.)
Advice to the owners
Establish process and procedure, be more professional in correspondence and overall building management.
