Former Tenant
Pros:
New appliances. But some of them were not property installed . There’s good light in the apartment. And during the winter it’s mostly quiet. Rent stabilized.
Cons:
No hot water in the shower for over 4 months. I kept calling the super and he kept on postponing. It took a lot of calls to get this fixed. There was a problem with the bedroom door that fell off and we had to wait a long time to get it fixed. Plus I ended up having to install it myself. Bed bugs and roaches are common. Some neighbors are dirty, they leave their trash on the steps or entrance of the building. The super works hard cleaning but he needs extra help. Management company are hostile on the phone and are not easy to deal with.
Advice to owner:
Get a professional management company. They are threatening and is not easy to speak with them. Get the super extra help. Whenever something comes up he seems to be always be over the top busy.
