I have a spacious apt that’s rent stabilized
Exterminator services very few weeks
Cons:
The quality of people being allowed to move in is really showing. The building is constantly dirty from garbage being left on stairs, or tenants that dirty the floors. Paper thin walls with tenants that have no concern for quiet hours. You will hear stomping, dragging of furniture, kids running all day. Tenants leave their garbage outside
of their doors for hours before they throw out. I’m pretty sure this exacerbates the rodent issue we have. Tenants cook with their apt door open and you can smell the nasty food they cook in the hallways. Wish they the rented to working class tenants instead of these section 8/welfare tenants that have no idea
what waking up early to work is. Cracked, uneven walls, oxidized bathtub, my apt was never renovated. The floors never polished so the wear and tear is visible. It’s not my responsibility to pay to have an apt renovated that I don’t own.
Advice to owner:
Years ago we had a super that enforced cleanliness and tenants adhering to the rules. You almost feel like you’re living in a building where the tenants feel can do as they please. Some of us do want peace/quiet, some of us do have corporate jobs. Just because it’s a building in the Bronx does not equal to some of us not working. Vet your tenants to make sure they bring the quality of the building up. This building is ghetto I wouldn’t invite friends over to visit. Do better and care about your property.
