206 East 196
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is quiet and residents are polite. Super is responsive to any issue you need him for.
Cons:
Building has a roach infestation. Was forced to move out 2 months before the end of my lease due to the conditions. They were everywhere and this is no exaggeration. Coming out of base boards, out the floors, roaches walking through hallways and into my apartment through creases in front door. I woke up to them in my bed. Truly a nightmare that even pest control couldn’t control. Boric Acid, Mint, roach glue, bleach etc. nothing worked. Do not move into this building at any cost. Roaches are an enormous issue here.
Advice to owner:
Demolish the building as the roaches have settled in and are living rent free!

Shit show.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The living room was large.
Cons:
Where should I start?? Sewage back up into the apartment on multiple occasions. Coming up through the kitchen sink and the bathtub on several occasions. The gurgling and bubbling up of that disgusting smelly filthy Mark was usually brief. But once it would’nt stop and I had to call the fire department to get it to stop. The paint on top of paint, on top of more paint is piled on so thick on the walls that you can’t even close the bedroom door. Water was often turned off without notice. And the neighborhood is horrible. Drug addicts stalking/following you home from the train station, A young woman and her aunt were bludgeoned to death with hammers in their apartment around the corner. And a man who worked in the deli on the corner was shot and killed in the middle of the day... this place is literallyyyyy the scum of the earth.
