The owners do not care
Former Tenant
Pros:
There is laundry in the building Bi- weekly exterminator for free They say no pets but no one enforces the rule.
Cons:
There’s only 3 washing machines and 3 dryers in the building laundry Roaches in the kitchen cabinets Mice in the building Nothing is renovated not even faucets The garbage disposal area is in a disgusting & dark back alley where mice and rats run through No one cleans the lobby or the stairwell landings There is no air conditioning When it is winter, there are multiple nights that the heat is not on or the boiler isn’t working. Same goes for hot water. Cold showers in winter. There are stairs on the outside of the building As well as the inside. No elevator. Buildings floors are dirty. Steps don’t match, they are different colors. Sometimes the intercom doesn’t work forcing you to miss packages. The secretary at the management office is rude. They sent rent bills every month but they do not clean a thing. If you need something fixed or repaired be prepared to constantly nag the management or nothing will ever get fixed. Mold in bathrooms in creaks and crevices.
Advice to owner:
Things do not last forever. When a person moves out, renovate. It won’t kill you to replace a faucet or replace a few tiles. Redo the flooring. If you know the boiler has issues, replace it. People don’t need to get sick in the winter and create medical bills because you guys don’t provide heat or hot water. Hire someone to clean the building weekly. Listen to your tenants, when something is broken it needs to be repaired. Mold is disgusting, do you want to live in mold? I think not, so why would you have your paying tenants live in mold. It’s 2021, replace the brown cabinets from 1970. Stop getting people to do cheap jobs. The stairs should not be different colors. You wouldn’t live like this, so why should we.
