The buildings are kept clean
Former Tenant
Pros:
Every morning someone cleans the entire building and steps
Cons:
Thin walls, can hear people throwing parties in their apartments Paying rent on an app that charges you an extra fee or having to get a money order
Advice to owner:
Let people zelle/quick pay the rent

Good starting apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenient: close to the 1 and 4 trains. 45 min to midtown Manhattan. Loose requirements to sign lease. Good starting apartment. Heat and water included. Management normally nice and responsive.
Cons:
Lobby and shared premises dirty. Crappy wall outlets that won't take a small heater. Outlets and plugs will burn. Toilet easily clogged, be careful in throwing even toilet paper. Mice and bugs in the whole building. You have to seal any possible way of entry. Uneducated, animal neighbors that don't care about other people. Music in the late hours of night during summer and weekends. Walk-up. Good exercise.
Advice to owner:
Have a better control of pests, mice and bugs. Conduct surveys of tenant satisfaction.
