Way Too Cold
Former Tenant
Pros:
Only one apartment per floor. Laundry in the basement. Landlord is very kind even though the other tenants are not.
Cons:
There's no security cameras in the building and it's on sort of a dead end street so it can be a little scary coming in or leaving when it's dark out. There seems to be absolutely no insulation in the walls because every winter you can feel the cold air coming from the walls that face the outside of the building. Turning up the heat helps nothing because the cold doesn't seem to allow the heat to rise in any bedroom, only the common room which is surrounded by other room so doesn't have any cold air touching it or windows. There's also a constant fight with the front building door, some people want it locked and others don't because mail can't get delivered when it is since there's not intercom. But with the whole no security thing, the only thing protecting us is the locked door at times. The laundry room in the basement rarely gets cleaned, nor does the front lobby. But the laundry room is also partly a storage room so it's already cramped to begin with. And the machines are disgusting, also never been cleaned, yet we have to pay quarters to use them.
Advice to owner:
No idea if anything at all can be done about the cold but you should definitely invest in some sort of security doorbell/camera. Also hire someone to come and clean once a month or something, and stop allowing tenants to police the other apartments that are none of their business.

Good Management in a Quiet Neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, only one apartment per floor.
Cons:
No superintendent on site, gets dirty easily.
Advice to owner:
Hire a super to come by weekly.
