Terrible management, overpriced
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice location and good view
Cons:
Way overpriced for what you get. Being next to the water can be really noisy at night with all the party boats. Management is really rude and unresponsive. The live-in super was not useful at all. You get a lot of noise from neighbors that echo through the hall badly.

Great view, incredibly overpriced
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Apartment was cleaned - No leaks - Washer/Dryer hookups - Great view of Manhattan
Cons:
- Disgusting hallways with falling apart linoleum - Packages were stolen constantly - Super was out to lunch - Incredible rent hikes - Shady construction from split apartments - Construction noise from next door - Literal crackhead living on the second floor (she's gone AFAIK now, but still) - Dumbo kind of sucks to live in with the amount of tourists - Crappy internet from some no-name company
Advice to owner:
Wouldn't listen anyways

Great location, little insulation
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, ceiling height is great, appliances are good, quirky which is a good and a bad thing.
Cons:
Loud upstairs/outside with construction/everywhere. There just isn't any insulation which, if you like quirky this building is great but the noise and unreliability got to be a bit too much.
Advice to owner:
Building location is great and the quirkiness is fun but, more reliability would be great.

Poorly managed
Former Tenant
Pros:
The space is unique. Great location and very spacious. A true New York experience. We have made the space our own.
Cons:
Where to begin. The building management is horrendous. Both the super and the management company are unresponsive and incompetent. They will take forever to do anything if they do it at all. Can pretty much expect a headache any time that we engage with them. Not uncommon to have the super fixing something at 11pm after he tells you that he will be there at 3pm. Or to have an appliance fixed 2 months after they told you that they would fix it.
Other issues are cleanliness of common spaces. Everything is always dirty or gross. The building has pest issues too. Construction on the building next door is getting better, but begins at 7am and shakes everything.
Packages are stolen from the mailroom regularly. If you don’t pick up your package right away it’s guaranteed that it won’t make it through the night. Ripped bags and open boxes are seen all the time.
Worst is the literally crazy tenant on second floor who verbally assaults others, screams at the top of her lungs and does drugs in her apartment with strangers. Police is called on her all the time. Apparently she hasn’t paid rent in 2 years and they are still unable to evict her. It’s very scary and will not be surprised if she stays until sadly someone gets hurt, or worse.

Worst building to live in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful apartments and usually good views if the water!
Cons:
SMOKE EVERYWHERE! So many people smoke in the building that it comes through the walls- my air purifier is always red. PEOPLE NOT PAYING RENT- people don’t pay rent and the owners have the worst time trying to get them out - so they harass other tenants (screaming at them, following them, screaming out their windows!) they bring other people in and steal packages. Management won’t do anything about it. Everyone one has complained but very little response. It is a lovely place but do not move in if you can find a better place. One time some of the tenants set the fire alarm off and couldn’t turn it off for 3 hours in the middle of the night. Sometimes I’m afraid to leave my apartment do to someone yelling at me..
Advice to owner:
Care about your tenants- I understand it’s difficult but we pay too much to be harassed in our own homes.
