Its not worth it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Don’t live here.
Cons:
Landlord is greedy, passive aggressive, controlling, manipulative, and judgmental. She is not worth dealing with. She’ll raise the rent 25% when she feels like it. Try to blame random problems with the old building on you as an excuse to take a lot of your security deposit when you move out. She yells at the people who work for her and she’ll be very rude to your movers/people working for you too. She won’t respect your boundaries, she’ll want you to leave your front door unlocked always, you’ll have to keep a table of hers in your apartment but she’ll get mad at you if you put anything on it (including just picture frames). She leaves her dangerous cat (the cat attacked me more than once) locked out of her apartment in the shared entry way. If you don’t hear the cat crying in time to let her back into the landlords apartment, the cat will pee and the entry way will smell awful for days and days. Every time you meet with her to talk about rent or problems with the apartment, it will take at minimum an hour (normally much longer) and be completely unprofessional. She’ll except you to be able to read her mind and accuse you of having no logic and trying to screw her over if you don’t — which will get her all the more power to take more of your money. I’m still thinking about the way she treated me months after moving out. Seriously, it’s not worth it.
