Don’t Read Our Mail - Fix Something /Anything

Pros:
Beautiful street, close to promenade.
Cons:
Opening tenant mail because it “was their right” including opening letters from Social Security Administration and hiding it. Scandalous retention of deposit. Accessed apartment without notification or permission. Sanded our floors down and charged us for damage. Laundry machines never worked. We had to go to nearby laundromat. Smell of marijuana and cigar smoke incessantly in foyer. Heating below city regulations in winter. Rats/vermin in ceiling that rustled about. Wouldn’t fix door to external patio and locked out of home in winter. So stressful to deal with them we opted to lose the money rather than deal with them another minute. “Superintendent” in wildly over his head. Owner has lavishly appointed personal apartment but barely invests a penny elsewhere. Home left immaculate (and walked through after parting with no problems identified) but still charged an outrageous cleaning fee. In years of renting never had a problem with a landlord. Always felt we were in someone else’s home. Just progressively worse and worse. Extremely stressful to leave somewhere on such bad terms. We don’t even walk by the home anymore. Fwiw: rent always on time, impeccable credit, professionals.
