Nice Place to Live
Former Tenant
Pros:
It is super clean and the management and maintenance teams are super responsive. The concierge are very friendly and they remember everyone's name. The view from the window is very nice, and the transportation is super convenient.
Cons:
It was right on the Flatbush Ave so it does not have a super strong "living vibe." I guess that is the trade off for easy subway access.

3 Year Tenant
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Fantastic doormen
- Same day maintenance requests
- Great on-site facilities like the gym
- Elevators are actually quick and with minimal wait time
- Great location
- Great partnerships and promotions with local retailers
Cons:
- Yearly rent hike is absurd
Advice to owner:
Your most loyal and enduring tenants deserve better benefits

Great building but slightly on the expensive end
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super modern
Great gym
Friendly staff and doormen
Four elevators
Cons:
Water pressure was weak
Area is quite noisy at night
A little expensive for not that large units

Great building but extremely overpriced
Former Tenant
Pros:
I loved living here at City Point. The amenities were great, the doormen are great, the people are friendly, the maintenance people are great, the noise level is truly not bad at all
Cons:
Price, price, price. I totally understand that you're paying for location but the rent increases are absolutely unreal. No sense of respect for long term tenants, truly all about money on the management end

Really nice building, owners don’t care about tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
-amazing staff
-great amenities
-proximity to transport & shopping
-pet friendly
-nice neighbors, for the most part
-things get fixed fast, in my experience (I only had issues with some appliances, nothing major).
-nice apartments

Con:
-area is pretty crowded and busy, can be a bit overwhelming walking out of the building. Building is pretty serene though once you’re inside.
Cons:
Management treats you like you’re a number on a spreadsheet. They care more about raising the rent to what they want to charge than considering how long you’ve lived in your apartment, even if you are a model tenant. The staff in the building know this and are disappointed to see good tenants who have lived there for years go when management hands them a renewal with a crazy increase. Personally, I and other staff members cried while saying goodbye when we moved out. That’s how much the staff care and we care.
Advice to owner:
Cool it on the rent increases. Stop setting rent prices you know will make people have to move out. You’re setting some dangerous precedents for the sake of profit.

across the street is a building in construction, and the lights kept me up most nights
Advice to owner:
Don't raise the rent so much each year

Great building, amenities and staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is well maintained, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Gym and common areas are nice and never too crowded. Proximity to subway and groceries can’t be beat.
Cons:
Management company tries to raise rents without much basis to the neighborhood and comparable buildings, but not too uncommon.

Cons:

Great amenities, great people - slow leasing response
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Amenities
- Doormen and everyone working around the building are fantastic
Cons:
- Some families live here and use the basketball court, outside areas, and gym as a play area for their small children - they take over the space and expect people to leave when they actually want to use the space for what it's meant
- Leasing agents are impossible - they are rude, don't respond to emails, yet get mad if you don't communicate with them. They make the renewal process absolute hell -
Advice to owner:
I agree with a previous review - get bent

Bring your earplugs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great big windows, doormen are friendly and on top of packages, no fee for amenities, close to subway and Trader Joe’s
Cons:
Constant loud dripping/tapping noise in ceiling all night. The noise from the construction elevator at Brooklyn Tower runs all weekend (even Sunday’s) and starts just before 6am. I’ve lived all over the city and I’m a heavy sleeper, but this is the first time I’ve just been unable to sleep without earplugs in a ‘luxury’ building. Mixed messages from the leasing/maintenance- to start with it was “we’ve never heard of this problem before” but then it became “we’ve spent a lot of money trying to fix the problem in the past”. The solution we got was that they wouldn’t move us to another apartment in the building (must be because every apartment has the same problem) so we should just move out. It’s a beautiful building in good location, but sleeping with earplugs every night is what I did backpacking in $10 dorms. The management seem unwilling to fix the problem and leasing will likely never mention it to you before you move in - so beware.

Former Tenant
Pros:
1. Management and maintenance staffs are nice and responsive
2. Location: B/N/Q stations and Trade Joes right next door
3. Nice apartment design
Cons:
A little bit noisy from the outside. A trade-off paid for the super convenient location

My First Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building has great amenities. The entire team including front desk, maintenance are really friendly and helpful. The building’s communication is always on point. The location is almost too perfect with all trains in walking distance.
Cons:
Depending on what type of unit you have, it’s hard to control the heat and AC.
Advice to owner:
No advice! Great experience overall.

Building has best staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
The staff are all incredibly helpful. Amenities well maintained, couldn’t be more conveniently located (subway, Target, Trader Joe’s, food hall all right next door).
Cons:
Rent payment process is clunky, never get statement before rent is due, most times it is updated on the payment site, but not always.

Great building and location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good service, nice amenities, clean and well-maintained, good events pre-pandemic
Cons:
Inconvenient Covid-19 amenity booking. Small amounts of noise can be heard from other units.
Advice to owner:
Encourage your employees to be vaccinated!

Management is truly awful, building staff is great
Former Tenant
Pros:
The concierges and porters are all great, hard-working, friendly people. Our neighbors are mostly kind and helpful.
Cons:
Management is AWFUL. Their contract will *remove your constitutional right to a jury trial*. It will also bill you for repairs you are not obligated to pay for.

Oh, and it says you can't sue them, but they can sue you. Very fair.

They will racially profile you (if you're Asian, or just don't speak English well).

They will offer deals to some people, but not others: you will learn about this because the management will send contract negotiations to the wrong person, without checking the correct e-mail address, without checking the tenants' names, and without checking which unit they are "negotiating" for.

They will bill you for things you are not responsible for. They will ignore eviction moratoriums.

They will take money from the state and tell you that you still owe them.

They will take money from the state, claiming they've improved things. They have not.

They will have their lawyers (who are — seriously — an absolute clownshow) respond to you, not anyone in management; they will do this for over a year.

They should not be trusted, ever. They prey on the vulnerable.

I am not the only one to have this experience, but many people are afraid to speak out for a variety of reasons — I am not.

Brodsky is a blight on Brooklyn.
