Location does not justify the rent.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location and proximity to public transportation.
Cons:
The building is poorly maintained; several units lack basic amenities, and the tenant turnover is high (for obvious reasons).

Terrible Living Experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great. I love the neighborhood and it’s an easy commute to Manhattan.
Cons:
The building is filthy, no maintenance done. The super is pretty unresponsive and the real estate agent asked that we pay her an EXTRA $150 for “light property management” — I never saw her again. When I moved in, there was garbage piling in the hall because there is no realistic garbage system. Later on, it caught on fire right in front of my door. No effort to clean during the pandemic, the hallways are gross. Packages were stolen. Paid an outrageous price for what it was. Would not recommend.
Advice to owner:
Clean. Charge less.

Nice neighborhood. Good location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very nice location in the heart of Brooklyn heights.
Cons:
The house keeping is bad. Building is not clean. Many “in house” repairs, more like bad patches. Poor responsiveness. Expensive for what it offers.
Advice to owner:
Fix the building… properly!

Great location, terrible landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great neighbors, great neighborhood, and incredible location.
Cons:
Not cleaned on regular basis, recurring water bugs, water leaks throughout building and cracks all over the walls. landlord refuses to handle basic maintenance or comply with legal obligations unless pushed. All problems blamed on prior tenants regardless of logic. Lease renewal never timely sent. Raised rents during the pandemic.
Advice to owner:
As if he’d take it. Comply with your legal obligations including paperwork, repairs, etc, or sell the building.
