Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood is wonderful and proximity to the station is great. There's a great sense of community here and a lot of camaraderie among other tenants given major difficulties with management.
Cons:
New management (Loom Capital) has been absurdly negligent to the conditions of the building. Rents have soared from $4k to $5,5k for 1.5 bedroom railroad apts and units that have been vacated are being converted into "3 bedrooms". Please do not be fooled by listing images and descriptions of "brand new" renovations. There has also been incredibly negligent construction practices: no permits, early/late construction hours, lead paint dust, debris in garden level backyards. Construction crews will leave within hours before a new tenant moves in with half-finished work. Our specific unit has also experienced mice in the ceiling, poor noise suppression from other units, warning signs of ceiling leakage, and inadequate fixture installation. Management refuses to acknowledge or rectify the issues that much of the tenants through 61-65 3rd place have continuously raised. (Worth looking at other reviews from those addresses as well as this building is a part of a larger complex.) Good luck out there!
Advice to owner:
You are making people's lives miserable and ruining the fabric of this neighborhood. Maybe find a different field of work
