Nice neighborhood, bad landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment is in okay shape and the neighborhood is nice
Cons:
Landlord is extremely unresponsive and volatile. Hires the cheapest workers and then rips them off. Doesn’t fix basic things.

Roach infestation and illegal rent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice, newly renovated units on a beautiful tree-lined street
Cons:
Was forced to leave the apartment at the end of my lease due to an ongoing roach infestation that the landlord refused to address.

When I provided her with a hardship affidavit saying I could not afford rent due to Covid, she threatened to sue me.

I didn’t have heat for two months, including while I was recovering from Covid.

Landlord is currently being sued by tenants across multiple buildings.
Advice to owner:
Pull it together, Marion.

Slum lord don’t do it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, location, location
Cons:
Terrible landlord, I was new to the city so I was very nice and good in hopes for my deposit to be returned, everything by the book. This landlord stole my deposit, I have a court order for collecting it. The building had roaches, the electric for the whole building had been put under my unit.
Advice to owner:
Sell the building to someone that can take care of it.
