Cheap but Management Doesn’t Care
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Great location
- Big living room and kitchen - HUGE by New York standards
- Dirt cheap for what you get. While the fixtures are a little dated, that wasn’t an issue for me because of the space for the price.
Cons:
- Old building on a busy road = you can hear everything on the street. You can constantly hear traffic from court street and the BQE. I couldn’t sleep the first week I lived here
- Management is hostile and is clear that they could find someone else if they have issues with you. It honestly felt like they hated me and my roommate when I left. It was awful.
- No garbage recepticle outside because it’s on a commercial street. You just have to plan well and have it out on garbage day.
- Manual lock on the building door. You cannot buzz people in. No camera.
Advice to owner:
- Maybe try pretending you give a shit about the people who live there and don’t be openly mean and hostile to your tenants.
- The sound is a HUGE issue. It’s like sleeping in the middle of a busy road and it sucks. New insulation, windows, etc...could help. A cheaper upgrade like a new door, video camera, and an intercom system that actually works would be a big help.
