Fair apartment, unpredictable rental prices
Former Tenant
Pros:
Our apartment was great in alot of ways, newly renovated, new kitchen, chic bedrooms, individual bathrooms.
Cons:
Because it's not rent stabilized, they increased the rent by 20% ($1000) when we tried to renew. It's very very sharp and they have no desire to want to negotiate with good tenants. Something to take into account if you're hoping to make this a long term residence, they have no interest in retaining their residents.
Advice to owner:
Try not to be such blood thirsty landlords...not a good look

Great apartment, awful landlord - good luck getting your deposit back!
Former Tenant
Pros:
I lived in unit 2R for 4 years, and loved how the apartment had updated finishes, as well as an in-unit W/D, dishwasher, wine cooler, and keyless entry.
Cons:
BBRE Management LLC is frankly awful - just not the sort of people you would want governing your living arrangements. As I said, I lived there for 4 years and always paid my rent on time, but on 2 occasions a delay on the bank’s side caused the payments to be a few days late, and they tried to hit me with a fee both times. Jacqueline in particular will come up with any excuse to fight with you and will argue over everything - I reached out to have one of the lights in the ceiling replaced, and her reply was non-committal and just frankly irritating. I could definitely go on, but the most major issue is that now that I’ve left, BBRE is nit picking and threatening not to return my security deposit. I am a professional who works a ton of hours and literally paid someone to pack me and clean my apartment when I moved - I’m not someone who deserves having their $4000k withheld. Long story short, you may be enticed by the look of the apartment and it’s location, but I guarantee that this awful landlord will sour the experience.
Advice to owner:
Be kind. Work with your tenants. Don’t incessantly try to get them to accept liability for things they are downright not liable for. It casts a dark shadow and what would otherwise be a good experience.

Nice apartment and building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well maintained and good location near Smith St bars and restaurants
Cons:
No amenities, down the street from the projects
Advice to owner:
Secure trash area since it is not currently protected from ransackers
