Former Tenant
Pros:
The positive thing about living in the building is that the landlords respond quickly to any issues. There's been a couple of issues in the past that the landlord had resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Department units also, you get a lot of sun so there's an abundance of natural light in the units. Another plus, tall ceilings 10 ft. The neighborhood is amazing as well, with there being a lot of bars and restaurants and various stores in the nearby area.
Cons:
The building is a walk up only, and the lights up the steps can definitely get tiring. The units are also small, they may look bigger in the listing in person with no furniture. However, once you begin moving furniture in, you quickly see the limited space. This being said, you can still pull off comfortable living in the unit. Just be mindful of space.

Rent an apartment and forget your deposit
Former Tenant
Pros:
Owners come from law and real estate background, so they keep things under law and order. But if you don’t renew your lease, they’ll extort you- will try to keep every last penny from your deposit.
Cons:
Owners have a bad history of not returning tenants’ deposit.
Advice to owner:
Stop extorting your tenants.
