Renters beware: this looks like a luxury building but it is NOT!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Elevator building.
The other tenants are friendly and inform you on issues such as packages, ice in front of building and suspicious behavior outside.
There are balconies for most units.
Some storage available in basement.
Cons:
Ravi Ruplal, the executive assistant, is unresponsive, rude and dismissive. If you have a disagreement, he will BLOCK YOUR NUMBER FOREVER. So it will take days for any urgent concerns to be acknowledged via email. Tenants have to make their own repairs and then get reimbursed for broken appliances, HVAC, doors, pest control. Basically anything you need done in a timely manner it is best you do it yourself and hope you will be reimbursed.
There are 12 units and only one washer and dryer. The dryer is always broken or producing little to know heat causing you to have to dry 2-3x’s. That is 2-3 hours spent drying a medium load! Absolutely ridiculous!
Security camera’s are often times not working so when packages are stolen, Ravi and Guy do not respond. Someone broke the main door glass and it took a week for them to fix it. The tenants had to put a cardboard over glass on door. Anyone could have pushed cardboard and walk in.
The super does not speak English so you can not communicate with him outside of an app. Often times, the trash is out of control for half the week. The building front is full of huge rats who occupy the trash! If you make complaints, Ravi will send super and then nothing will come of it. He will also blame the super and call them incompetent.
The owners Guy Hochman, have tried to ban rooftop access and basement storage with out lowering rent. Just shady behavior.
The building is always dusty with cobwebs in basement and hallways.
Advice to owner:
Stop being petty slumlords and treat your tenants with respect. We should not have to break bank to repair our units. We should not have to cower when reporting issues out of fear that Ravi will respond with treats and refuse to help us. When you advertise unit and building amenities, it is your duty to maintain then to functioning use.
