Slumlords in sunset park
Former Tenant
Pros:
Unfortunately all the cons overshadow the pros (good location)
Cons:
After living in my slumlords building for over 10 years, during the pandemic I had a horrible leak issue that was ongoing and it started to show black mold coming through the walls, and ceiling. I tried to get my landlord to tend to the issue but they totally ignored it so I had to call 311. After one visit from 311 they discovered that my apartment is illegal because my slumlords never updated the building to a three family home after converting the top portion of their brownstone into what was my two bedroom apartment (along with other violations). I got vacated during the height of pandemic in 2020. In less the a month I had to move all my belongings out of the apartment.I’ve been in a shelter since and the damages caused by slumlords negligence has been ongoing.
