Tricky Communication in a Perfect Location
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood can't get any better. Shared laundry in building, shared outdoor space in the back. Quiet and very kind neighbors.
Cons:
The landlord is difficult to communicate with. There have been months at a time that he doesn't respond to any texts or emails. When he does respond, he tends to lash out at any hint of inconvenience or urgency. The handyman he hires is equally difficult to communicate with and tends to leave projects half finished. If they do get finished, they tend to be sloppy. Any notes to the landlord about the quality of this work is met with aggression. Because he is a remote landlord, he doesn't have first hand knowledge of the goings on of the building and doesn't listen to anyone but the handyman, who we are hesitant to trust.
Advice to owner:
Work on having patience and keeping an open mind when tenants come to you with worries or complaints. You aren't here to see what's going on, but the tenants are. At least hear them out.

Terrible landlord, Bad Handyman
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice enough apartment, semi redone with access to the backyard in 1L and 1R
Cons:
The land lord is terrible and uses a very bad handyman for all fixes. Does not contact a pest control person to fix issues with roaches and mice. Uses the handy man instead who does not know what he is doing. Had to redo multiple "fixes" in our apartment. He is not very responsive and very aggressive when actually contacted. Took atleast two months to fix our buzzer system and blamed our neighbors for package theft.
