Terrible building, do not consider living here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The rent is cheap for this neighborhood, and the neighborhood/location is the best thing about this building
Cons:
The landlord is non-responsive, takes ages to address issues. The apartments are falling apart, and all appliances are old and disgusting.

The worst part are the tenants who are related to the landlord. One young adult clearly has issues with substances and is very volatile. Constantly slamming doors, shouting in the hall, and sobbing in the hall. Police come to this building regularly, and will knock on your door at 3am. Landlord refuses to do anything about the situation because these tenants are related to him.

Worst hell hole I've ever lived in
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was our first apartment in NYC, and we were there for quite a while. That concludes the pros.
Cons:
Poor maintenance, leaky bathroom whose ceiling collapsed 3 times, owner fixed it by wall boarding in a garbage bag that filled up and collapsed the ceiling a fourth time. The city was always trying to gain access to the locked basement and would knock our our door. No owner response to issues, his answers were always quick, cheap fixes that never lasted.
