Weird Experience at a Beautiful Unit
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful historic brownstone. Never had issues with pests or uncleanliness. The owner is pretty responsive and personable as long as you’re cool and nothing happens to your apartment, I guess (will explain below). Neighbors are nice. Within walking distance of tons of different restaurants and bars, 2 subway stops, the co-op if you’re into that, and of course the park. You get the Park Slope serenity but with convenience and a 20 minute express train ride to Manhattan.
Cons:
I had an incident while living at the property that necessitated my having to vacate the unit for a couple of days while my apartment was getting repaired. Although the owner promised me that he would reimburse me for the lodging while I couldn’t be in my apartment, he refused to do so once I moved back in. It wasn’t like I stayed at The Plaza; it was a modestly priced Airbnb room in Bushwick. I was advised to take the matter to the small claims court, but didn’t want to drag on the issue so I dropped it.
Also, the heat. Forget about using a space heater because the electricity for the entire building would go out. There were only 2 radiators so my apartment was pretty cold.
