Typical NYC Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large rooms, great location, responsive management.
Cons:
Massive roach problem - especially during the summer.
Heating is good but is noisy and turns on even on warm days.
Advice to owner:
Please fumigate the 1st floor

Huge apartments in great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Views of the park are great if you’re at the front of the building, spacious apartments, good super
Cons:
Management company isn’t as responsive as I’d like, bikes had been stolen from the basement

Nice old building, childish management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great radiator heating. Nice masonry, good apartment layouts, good sun and neighbors. Great location. Water is usually nice and hot. Consistent power and internet. Lots of closets. There is an elevator and laundry in basement.
Cons:
Management tries to remain obscure and avoid fixing any problem they aren't legally required to fix. There are bugs but not so so many. The basement is creepy and the laundry machines are mediocre. The super is a covid-19 denier with not great english and won't do anything for us unless we make requests through management first. The floors and ceilings are a little thin so there's lots of noise from neighbors above. There's no composting.
Advice to owner:
Exhibit more proactivity in anticipating tenant needs. Recognize tenants as valid beings who deserve more than the bare minimum. Hire a new super who can handle things for you without tenants having to email management.

Bad management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to trains and Prospect Park
Cons:
Live in super not very responsive when you need things fixed.
Very cheap “renovations”.
Elevator breaks at least monthly.
Constant roaches.
Super smokes in building.
Owners are impossible to reach.
Advice to owner:
Get your act together. Your building is gross. And Jeff doesn’t do anything.
