Gross building, bed bugs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cheap, the price is right
Cons:
Owner/management is awful, don’t know what they’re doing. They own the restaurant on the ground floor and it is so gross. Bugs all over, my neighbor had bed bugs

Stingy Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is in great location. Landlord was mostly responsive in reasonable time as issues arose.
Cons:
The bottom line is that the landlord, Abul, is CHEAP. This building was built in 1930 and feels minimally updated since then. There’s no buzzer to let your guests in; you have to go to the front door to meet them. Abul hasn’t updated the apartment doors (like every as far as I can tell) and my lock broke TWICE while I lived there - I was trapped inside and had to call a locksmith to get me out, then Abul refused to pay for the emergency lock service even though locks are entirely a landlord’s responsibility. He finally agreed to pay the second time it happened, but then deducted it from my security deposit. Quite a headache. Also, I had BED BUGS. Thankfully landlord was prompt in getting an exterminator, but after speaking with other tenants, I learned that bed bugs are a chronic problem in some units. Overall, this building is not worth it.
Advice to owner:
Put some money into your building and be a responsible landlord!
