Landlord from hell
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building itself is pretty and old and has lots of character
Cons:
Landlord didn’t tell us there was a ten year ongoing bedbug infestation
Landlord screamed at me for communicating with other tenants
Heat AND hot water did not work from November till February, landlord claimed he didn’t have the money to fix it, he now owes HPD over $80,000 in fines
Kept half of our security deposit for absolutely no reason
Front door to building wouldn’t completely close unless you pulled it shut, landlord had to be ordered by HPD to fix it
Attempted to pick up our rent checks at random times by knocking on the door, no warning
We moved in with a broken front door lock (door wouldn’t open from the inside) that hee would not fix
Never communicated with tenants about changes happening until told forcefully that it was illegal
Advice to owner:
Have a long look in the mirror, and sell the building. You can’t do this job. People suffer because of you.

Don't move here
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's a large apartment
Cons:
There's a massive bedbug issue, the landlord is completely negligent, and there are mice and roaches as well. If you complain about pests the owners will pretend like they have no idea what you're talking about, will blame you for bringing them in, and will try to get you to pay for an exterminator yourself, which is illegal.

I had bedbugs for months and the landlord ignored me
Advice to owner:
Listen to your tenants
