Neighbors tried to warn us not to rent...
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful house, partially enclosed front porch, roof deck and location are awesome
Cons:
The Landlord.

Neighbors screamed at us on signing day telling us not to rent and now we know why. Julienne Sialeu (look her up she's in the news) doesn't listen to what you're saying, becomes really nasty if you ask for repairs, yells at contractors until they walk off the job, resists all and any repairs, and is impossible to get ahold of- in fact seems to avoid our calls. Oh, and there's no super so its her or bust.

She's unreasonable- gets mad if you ask for repairs, doesn't listen to your problems and tells you she'll charge you for it- including the repairs she is legally obligated to fix.

She refused to repair the upstairs toilet that was leaking into the downstairs bedroom and told us "clogged toilets are our responsibility" and wouldn't even look at it. (the toilet is leaking from the base and is *not* clogged.) The ceiling in the downstairs bedroom had septic water pouring out and she still refused repairs. 311 violations show this issue is not new.

Do to the above likely water damage the upstairs hallway is sagging and continues to sag further. We question it's structural integrality but Julienne will not fix it or have it looked at.

Julienne also refused to reinstall or fix the upstairs bathtub that wouldn't drain. We got a court order for her to fix it but as of moving out she has not fixed it.

We asked for the broken outlets and doorknobs to be fixed before move-in and they weren't- including the upstairs bathroom having NO doorknob on the inside leaving you locked in the bathroom if you close the door.

We also had NO HEAT THE ENTIRE TIME WE LIVED AT 1021 UNION ST. Under freezing weather she did nothing and ignored the multiple City Violations posted on the front door.

Julienne Sialeu simply does not care about the property or the tenants and will nickel and dime you to pay for basic needs and repairs and if you go to court to order the repairs she ignores the order and then counter sues. She uses vaguely threatening tones and suggests she's doing you a favor by doing anything, including her job and making the house livable. She's been sued in the past for harassing her tenants and not fixing hazardous repairs (it's public record- go look because its worth it. Trust me cause there is SO much more from other people about how horrible this landlord is) and she's still doing it.

I deeply recommend that NO ONE ever rents this place or ANY property from Ms. Sialeu.
Advice to owner:
Get someone else to run your properties. You clearly have no interest in talking, listening or helping your tenants so hire someone else who will. Stay home so that no one has to deal with you screaming at tenants, guests, or contract workers that know more about their job than you do.

If you still refuse, maybe close your mouth a moment and listen to tenant problems instead of assuming you know better than professionals and the people ACTUALLY LIVING THERE. You haven't won a court case against a tenant for a reason. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
