Beautiful Apartment on the surface / ZERO insulation / Horrible Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment has great modern features and a great space
Cons:
Windows and walls have absolutely no insulation. VERY cold winters with sky-high electricity bills. No elevator is very inconvenient for the higher floors. Management is a complete joke. Illegally withholding deposit after the 14 day period for cleaning when apartment was left spotless with documentation. Painting charges taken from our deposit when all holes were spackled, and NYC law states apartments are to be repainted every 3 years (we were tenants for 4). Package theft issues very often. One washer and one dryer is not enough for the number of people living in this building. Backyard is not maintained; grass is overgrown with dead rats.

Beautiful apartments, lackluster amenities and management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge ceilings, nice hardwood floors, big windows in the back, updated appliances
Cons:
Washer/Dryer is always broken. Heating is EXPENSIVE. Backyard could use maintenance, roof could be finished, windows need better insulation. Kitchen is small

Great spot in Crown Heights!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well designed and beautiful layouts in all apartments. Never had any pest problems. Great access to Crown Heights and Prospect Heights.
Cons:
So many stairs, but you do get used to it. Management is decently responsive, but occasionally picky about certain things. You learn how to engage with them. They will try to keep your security deposit.

Fine First Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
- plenty of space for the price
- nice backyard
- water included in rent
- pets are allowed
- problems were addressed within a week
- very nice kitchen
Cons:
- packages went missing
- some neighbors could be very loud late into the night on random nights and would be in the backyard until very late
- solutions to problems were not always 'one and done'

pandemic challenges and loud living experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
amazing appliances. NO pests at all! amazing ceilings
Cons:
crazy loud street-facing apt. ive heard arguments (screaming matches really) last 2 hours and it sounds like theyre in the bedroom with you lol (more common than you think.) doors into apt from hallway also block zero sound and the high ceilings make it reverberate inside. poor layout of units with poor storage so stuff tends to hang out everywhere. overpriced building. its a total gentrification building so i found the neighbors who moved in very nice but very clueless. they would put the door code to the building on the front of their packages and put their trash out wrong and all manner of silly first year in ny-esque mistakes. huge package theft issues. i lost over 700 dollars in stuff and management was absolutely no help and not sympathetic.
Advice to owner:
treat your tenants like theyre people please! we got ZERO assistance during the pandemic despite our huge setbacks and they even docked our security deposit for an overpriced cleaning crew even though we left the place spotless as per the lease.

RUN: Forced me to change apartments once they had my deposit
Former Tenant
Pros:
Absolutely nothing other than Pessy who is very nice and tries her best
Cons:
- When we moved in, the oven didn't work for 2 months, there was a hole in the kitchen and there was dust everywhere. The apartment clearly wasn't ready for move-in

-The 4th floor walk-up is actually an 8 FLOOR walk-up, because each "floor" consists of 2 floors, as all of the apartments have an upstairs and downstairs area.

-One night at 3am my roommate and I were locked out of the building begging for access to the backyard from our neighbors because the code at the door didn't work and we couldn't contact a single person

-I paid a deposit for a room on the second floor, and less than a week before move-in, they told me I have to move to the "4th" (really 8th) floor, AND sign a 22 month lease instead of a 12 month lease. They clearly did this on purpose knowing it was too last minute to find something else. I had to go up and down 8 steep flights of stairs a day, 9 to do my laundry.

-They told me all of my new roommates knew I had cats, when infact, one of my other roommates had a cat too of which we both had no idea, and one of my roommates was ALLERGIC. None of us were notified until we met on move-in day. The cats ended up getting into a fight.

-All of the fancy looking countertops etc are cheap looking plastic. The dishwasher is tiny and it sucks.

Run for the hills and stay far far away
