The exterior is more appealing than the interior
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is located on one of the most beautiful blocks in Crown Heights.
Cons:
The building always has a pest control issue, whether roaches or mice. All the tenants share two bathrooms, but no one cleans the bathrooms. There is no consistent extermination, cleaning, or garbage removal system. There are also no emergency evacuation ladders. Most of the neighbors congregate either in the front (during warm weather months) of the building or on the 2nd or top floor to gossip about women that live in the building. The neighbors are extremely loud and compete to see who can be the loudest after acknowledging the extreme noise levels. Most tenants are men, which makes it very uncomfortable for women tenants. I have observed MOST women move out within one year of residing in the building. The Super of the building is socially awkward and unaware of what is happening there.
Advice to owner:
Manage the upkeep and maintain the property. Work on communication and social interactions.
