Big brother landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very warm during the winter. Easy access to food, grocery, transportation. Great lighting from a corner apartment. Lots of windows
Cons:
Very noisey street, lots of people hanging out and playing music on the corner and hanging out on the stoop. Landlord always hangs out on stoop as well. You will be running into him every single day snd he will act creepy and flirt with you.
Advice to owner:
Your concern for privacy and security is valid, but you are misleading about plumbing issues, about property management, bugs and mice. And the feeling of being constantly watched everyday feels suffocating.

this is the loudest block in brooklyn, the building is in foreclosure
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apt gets a lot of light
Cons:
The block is louder than anywhere I’ve ever lived. Huge flow of traffic and the apartment is on the same block as a karaoke oyster bar, a pub, and a motorcycle repair shop. There are rats in the building, and my door does not have a proper lock.
The owner has not paid his mortgage and owes $2 MILLION on the property in mortgages alone, and over $700k in property taxes. The building is being foreclosed upon by US Bank - this is all on the City Clerk’s site.
Advice to owner:
Pay your mortgage :) Work on the rat infestation.
