Apartments are great, hallways smell like piss
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet all around; management was responsive; hot water was hot; apartment was bright;
Cons:
radiators were incredibly loud; 3-6 roaches a day, but when i caulked my bedroom there were none for the remaining 2 years of me living there; someone would invariably piss in the stairwell every week; we had mice for about two days, exterminator came quickly, plugged the holes, and set up traps (3 dead mice)
Advice to owner:
clean the piss

Sometimes a decent unit isn't enough
Former Tenant
Pros:
How spacious it was.
Cons:
The odor in the halls and lobbies is constant and it reeks.
The STREET reeks of hot garbage even in the winter.
The vermin problem is out of hand. Don't expect to walk down the street without seeing at least 6 rats at once.
The landlord may respond but in terms of actually fixing the problem it can take months. We had to put in housing violations for some things to get fixed.
The boiler is a mess.
The toilet always gets messed up and clogged when it rains.
Landlord said the exterminators were scheduled to regularly come once every month to check the units out. Only ever came once unless personally scheduled.
Advice to owner:
Actually come and visit your properties. If you're getting a ticket from your tenants once every month there might be bigger problems.
