Unethical landlords
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large units with exposed brick in a great neighborhood
Cons:
Upkeep and maintenance are a joke, the landlords use paper records that aren’t accurately maintained (accused us of being late on rent multiple times when we were not). My unit was never cleaned before I moved in and we had multiple issues with leaks, mice and more during the time I lived there. Years of built up grime all over the apartment. Repairs are poorly done and don’t address the root causes of issues. Landlords are just trying to get as much money out of you as possible and don’t put any back into the building. Kept a portion of our security deposit for unpainted walls when there was visible spackle and holes everywhere when we moved in. Unable to get in touch with the landlords or the super in emergencies, phones were only answered between 9am and 1pm on weekdays and they “don’t do” emails. No notifications when the super was out of town... the list goes on and on.
Advice to owner:
Actually take care of your buildings and treat your tenants with respect and care.
