Looks pretty, but beware
Former Tenant
Pros:
An old brownstone with a large layout & some original details that seem enticing.
Cons:
The heat literally did not work in the rear half of the house. The rooms were 55 degrees during the day in winter - you can imagine the temperature at night. The landlord was inexperienced and completely useless. Instead of remedying the situation, they chose not to renew the lease at the end of the term rather than fix the issue for a tenant who had continued to pay rent despite the lack of heat. Motorcycle gangs using Brooklyn Ave. as a thoroughfare, loud late-night parties at Brower Park, and the bus stop right outside can be heard through the thin old windows.
Advice to owner:
Fix your heat and respect your tenants.
