Shady
Former Tenant
Pros:
Updated building, virtual doorman.
Cons:
Management company has very little respect for tenants. Often downright disrespectful to tenants, it's very clear they see tenants as profits and little else. Very small units, high turnover. Updated, but done with cheap materials so things are often peeling. Any repairs required in units are ignored by management and referred to emergency repair number--not a specialist so can't fix certain problems. No follow-up for repairs and will ignore your calls. Very money hungry, they *will* try to increase the rent as much as they can any chance they get. They will attempt to withhold your security deposit from you illegally. They also ask for an illegal "Good Faith deposit" equivalent to a month's rent when submitting an application. Very unhelpful when it comes to security measures, tenants are treated like a nuisance. Have never once seen anybody from the management company at the apartment, only Errol, the emergency repairman. Not recommended for a long term situation, or sign a 2 year lease to avoid rent increases and hope nothing essential breaks/you don't need their help for anything.
Advice to owner:
Value your tenants. They're people who chose your building as a place to *live* and trusted you with their living situation.
