Nice starter apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
First apartment I moved into when I moved to NYC. Lived with roommates. Location was the best—so close to the subway so commuting into the city was a breeze. Having Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, and the library nearby was a treat. Loved having multiple bathrooms, in-unit w/d, and backyard access. Our neighbors in the building were sweet and kind.
Cons:
Insulation could be better. We found the central air/heat too run too strongly on the main floor while our roommate in the basement floor had to often run a personal heater to keep warm. Eventually, we all just found it economical to run personal heaters during the winters. Additionally, the basement would suffer from leaks/water issues. The backyard required a lot of upkeep due to a severe weed issue. The full yard had been de-weeded multiple times only to have them grow back.
