Ok...While It Was Cheap
Former Tenant
Pros:
Not far from Franklin Ave station, or President and Nostrand. I liked that section of Crown Heights all things considered.
Cons:
Noisy people on the street at night outside the bar and the restaurant across the street.
Not very responsive landlord. Super rarely around. My roommate was our own Super.
Prices shot up once the shiny new condo went up behind but with nothing done to the apartment in so long it was no longer worth it.

Garbage building with garbage landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are large for nyc, but the building is over 100 years old and I can guarantee that the landlord/management hasn’t done any real upkeep since they purchased it (maybe in the 80s).
Cons:
1. There is no super to call when there are problems.
2. Mold everywhere that they won’t fix only cover up.
3. Common areas are literally falling apart
4. Building is so old that bedbugs can walk under cracks in walls between the buildings different units; so if one apartment gets them the whole building does which happens to us in 2020. Management tried to do nothing and we had to fight to get treated AND had to bring our own inspector out twice to convince the landlord they were there.
5. Cockroaches and mice will share the space and pay no rent and landlord won’t help.
6. Management frequently breaks the laws and is willing and happy to retaliate against you (we were forced out with an illegal rent increase with no notice, and when informed that they were violating the law they doubled the increased rent and get improper notice again)
7. Management uses basement as a storage space for neighborhood garbage.
8. Most of the neighbors in the building are crazy because the apartment is garbage and management pulls them out of the woodwork; on neighbor threatened to kill me and my partner and harassed us for months and when I asked management to intervene or set up a security camera I was told to shut up or they’d take away backyard access (which is the buildings fire egress)
9. Management will sometimes start repairs (if you can get them that far) but not finish or take WAY too long. They once removed my toilet, put it in the bathtub, and left for 6 hours; when they finally returned and finished “fixing” it they bathroom looked like they’re rubbed literally shit all over the walls.
10. While openigloo says NO history of litigation for this management company that’s actually wrong; they sued the previous tenants if they building (but other side; 202) for over 60k.

I’m sure there is more; I was there for years and it was all nightmarish. I know they were trying to renovate after pushing me out. I’ve been told by a neighbor I’m friends with that they tore enough out they they could see through the ceiling of their apartment into my old apartment above; they also said the ceiling was full of black mold and they were just patching over it.
Advice to owner:
Sell the building; your a slumlords and it’s going to bite you in the ass someday.
