its worth the low rent

Pros:
great price
roomy
amazing area, so close to trains, such good food
landlord is pretty chill and flexible
small building
Cons:
very persistent mice infestation that spikes about once a year
less persistent but still gross cockroaches
appliances are old and have fallen apart a lot, when something actually stops working to the point of needing replacement the landlord sends some cheap guy he knows and so the replacement often also does not work or breaks again very quickly
i am pretty sure there’s mold since the kitchen sink leaks and the bathtub is constantly dripping
landlord is not evil but it literally takes a month and about 3 dismissive interactions to convince him to do something about something and so if you need something done urgently it can be very frustrating
heating has been very inconsistent as that is one of the things that breaks a lot also i’ve been paying for heat and i actually think he’s supposed to do that
the kitchen window doesn’t open which is bad and makes the kitchen like unusabley hot if you turn the oven on
overall given the low rent and the amazing location the drawbacks aren’t that horrible
Advice to owner:
i think some of the appliances could use an upgrade
