Non-existent lanlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to prospect park, backyard right by our apartment, rent stabilized, renovated unit for cheap, no crazy rules or pet fees
Cons:
Well… the building is not maintained whatsoever… there’s a backyard and courtyard that has trash everywhere and broken glass from any construction project they’ve done in the past. They just threw all of the pieces of construction projects in our backyard. Our toilet stops working almost monthly and getting the landlord or any of his people that help him (like a plumber) is impossible on the weekends which is always when the issue happens of course. We’ve tried with no avail to have our landlord actually fix issues to prevent them from happening again but it’s simply just a short term solution every time and its after numerous emails and follow up texts. The super is nice and helpful with what he can do on his own, but ultimately the landlord controls every fix and it just doesn’t happen. We followed up at least 10 times about the drainage in surrounding area of our unit because every time it rained there would be terrible flooding and we were worried about it reaching our apartment. Of course he never fixed it and so we eventually had that terrible storm last September and our apartment flooded. We recently woke up to water gushing out of our bathroom ceiling and it was NOT clear!!!!! Now our bathroom smells bad and they have yet to do anything
