Good neighbors, good luck with the plumbing.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet and kind neighbors take care of many aspects of building maintenance, from the beautiful plants out back to sweeping common areas.
Cons:
It’s an old building with old plumbing. Leaks and clogs are frequent, and it feels like most fixes are cosmetic. The super spends minimal time on trash and is rarely seen maintaining any common areas.
Advice to owner:
When tenants vacate, the bones of the building need work.

Old building needs work and better maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are decent sized. Most tenants are friendly and care about the building
Cons:
The apartment should have been deep cleaned before having people move in. The kitchen appliances were way out of date. The stove was old and damaged and all they did was paint it to hide the damage. The refrigerator was also very old and should have been replaced but they said no when asked. The bath tub was painted before we moved in and this paint quickly started to chip. Management is barely responsive when repairs are requested, telling you they will call back to set up a time and then never call or take a long time to respond.
Advice to owner:
Get better and more efficient about maintenance and responding to tenants. Deep clean the apartments before having tenants move in. Replace refrigerators and stoves when needed

Great location, needs updating.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors in the building are a mix of long time and new residents. All are friendly, considerate, and kind. Many residents take it upon themselves to care for the building, planting flowers and cleaning common areas. The block and location are wonderful.
Cons:
It’s a prewar building that needs work when apartments turn over—plumbing, electrical, etc. This doesn’t seem to be a priority for management. There is no live in super, and common spaces are rarely cleaned. It’s also hit-or-miss with getting repairs handled promptly.
Advice to owner:
Update the plumbing and electric. Require more of building day to day maintenance—timely snow removal, lobby cleaning, etc.
